When a Negative Equals a Possitive

In my previous post, which you can read here, I discussed my fears with my son's weight issues. He is a small boy for 17 months and has not gained any weight in the past few months. Last week his doctor took blood samples from his little arm for lab review.

I had the entire weekend for my mind to wander and my heart to race with thoughts of "What IF"! Arr, those two word can really open up a can of worry worms. Early this week I could not stand to wait for the results. I needed to know that my son's health was okay. So being the crazy worry new mommy, I called the office to see if his results arrived. The polite receptionist stated they had and she could not reveal the lab results to me and his doctor would call us back later in the day.

Naturally, that only made me worry more! Why is the doctor calling me and not the nurse? If the doctor is calling it must be bad news right? Again with the crazy worried new mommy syndrome. I made myself have a worry fest. I immediately called my mom and my husband to say a prayer for my monkey and thus made my mom worry a bit as well. But she being a veteran mommy of two, she told me that I was making myself worry too much needed to take a deep breath and relax.

Then a few minutes later my phone rang, it was the doctor! She told me that they received the lab results and they all came back normal. I felt a ton being lifted off my heart and sighed with relief. My monkey is okay and just a small boy. She recommend we put some weight on him with more snacks and a kid friendly fiber/protein shake. (Of which we had bought over the weekend).

Needless to say, Monkey is getting spoiled now a days with both healthy and sweet treats to help put the weight on him. Monkey get your snack on!
