Back To School Individual Style! #jcpback2school

Back to school is just around the corner! What goes along with new backpacks, freshly sharpened pencils, and supplies? Why a new clothes!! What kind of style does your little one have? Do you still dress your little one everyday or do they pick out an outfit? With the help of mindful parents, every kid can develop their own sense of style.

With Monkey being one year’s old we do dress him up each day because he’s not old enough to put together a complete outfit. However, we pick his clothes with a sense of style and focus on the cars, trucks, and mud theme. Well he is a boy! So no pinks or purples in his closet. We do encourage Monkey's sense of style by laying out three different clothing outfits for the day. Each morning he gets to look over his options and he picks out what he'd like to wear that day. But to be honest he's still pretty happy wearing whatever we put on him.

We try to add a few stylish accessories like a cool baseball hat or a pair of cool sunglasses to each outfit. We complete the outfit with a pair of funky sock and really nice shoes.

We tend to dress him up for the days activities so if its time to play at the park, climb toys, or run round outside that means no flip flops or sandals. If it’s cool outside we dress him up appropriately. Texas weather is usually hot so he has a ton of shorts and cool cotton T-shirts. Each T-shirt has some type of crazy saying on them like “Here Comes Trouble” “Trouble Magnet” or “Official Back Seat Driver”. We also tend to buy him a few NFL or College logo clothing.

When it come to attending church Monkey’s gets all dapper in his polo shirts, kaki pants, and brown or black dress shoes. He’s even worn a small suite for special occasions like the holidays or family photos. Either way Monkey is dressed to impress.

When it comes to style it does not mean you have to buy the most expensive or name brand item. The kids grow up so fast they usually don’t last too long in the same outfits. Shop sales or the clearance rack one size up for the next season. We buy winter clothing right after the holidays for the following year and save a ton.
