Keeping Your Family Cold and Flu Free #lysolcoldandflu

Fall is fast approaching and with that naturally comes Cold and Flu Season. We all know that keeping your family cold and flu "free" is a pretty impossible task. Here are some my family’s tips to help prevent them from spending this holiday season sick.

1. Get a flu shot. Each year we receive an e-mail alert from our family doctor that is Flu Shot time. I really hate to get shots and so does my son but with little ones you need to help keep them healthy. Flu shots are typically covered under most insurance policies and if you can't afford one, your state may offer Free Flu clinics. Right now you can Like Lysol® on Facebook and get a flu shot badge and an opportunity to receive a $5 flu shot rebate. Learn more about the flu rebate at www.lysol.com/flufree123!

2.Wash your hands. This is one is an easy tip for everyone. Right before eating, just after using the restroom, and after playing in the park we ALWAYS wash my son’s hands. If there is not a restroom nearby carry a hand sanitizer or antibacterial wipes to get kill those pesky germs. Doing little things like washing your hands is so easy and surprise, it's the most effective way to combat the cold and flu viruses.

3.Cover your mouth. It’s important not to let germs spread. Whether it’s a sneeze or a cough, cover your mouth. Teach your kids to cover their mouths and noses with their hands, arms, or a tissue. Keep tissues in your purse or diaper bags.

4.Wipe down surfaces. When someone in you family is sick don't forget to wipe down doorknobs, remotes, countertops, light switches, and phones with an anti-bacterial wipes. This helps kill germs and stops them from spreading to other family members.

5.Take a multi-vitamin. It’s important for the whole family to take a multi-vitamin each day. When it comes to kids be on the look for gummy vitamins with immunity-boosting ingredients. Don't forget to drinking plenty of water throughout the day to keep keep your body healthy as well.

6.Don’t share. By sharing toys, school supplies, and even phones you share your germs. Teach your kids to be careful what they share at school or at the playground. Also teach them if a friend is sick it's okay to keep a safe distance away from them, wash their hands often, or not want to play with them.

I would love to hear what other moms have as tips! Leave me a comment letting me know how you keep your family cold and flu free!
