I hate Cancer

I received some very sad news the other day. My beautiful aunt is in her final stages of cancer. My aunt is the crazy one in the family because she is so outspoken, funny, silly, passionate, and overall a wonderful woman.

She has been fighting cancer for over fifteen years. It started off as breast cancer, went into remission, came back strong and slowly made its way throughout her strong body. She fought it every time with all she had. But the cancer was just too strong for her and now it has taken over her lungs. The doctors stated they just don't know how long she has left but, the end is near.

I hate cancer because it seems to take away all of the good people in the world. Why is that my aunt who was an elementary school teacher and volunteer has cancer? Why is it that some criminal or murderer gets to spend the rest of his healthy life in jail? These are thing that I will never understand. It is not my place to understand but, I wish I could take all of her cancer away.

As I write this my heart is broken, I love my aunt and growing up I wanted to be just like her. In fact, I still do. I admire her strength and courage. I will continue to pray for her recovery and for my family. God must need more angels like her in heaven for him to want to take her life so soon. For now I will enjoy what time we have left with her and keep the memories close to my heart forever. Please say a prayer for her.
