I remember growing up Mother’s Day was a Busy Day. There were times I remember my mom still doing her daily chores PLUS getting ready for family to come over but also times when all the men did the work (that was always funny to watch). Now that I’m a mom, have four kids + my sister has 3 kids, my mother opts for less stress dinners/cookouts where we can enjoy the day more. When I was a little girl I remember going into her room, navigating her jewelry box-picking out my favorite piece, then wrapping it up for her from Mother’s Day. She still talks about the time she received her own pearls for Mother’s Day and my daughter has even done that for me once.
