Heelys Review: Let the Good Times Roll!

What's stylish, hip, and fun all "rolled" into one? Heelys!!

Heelys are the two-in-one shoe that lets you take life at your own pace. Heelys are shoes with a single or double wheel in the heel and they allow the wearer to go from walking to rolling simply by shifting their weight to their heels. With the wheels out, the stylish designs perform and look just like any other shoe. When you easily put the wheels in, you roll at a different speed. Heelys are about exploring your freedom, unleashing the fun and empowering you to be fearless. Heelys are available for the whole family!

Face it; you’ve seen kids gliding on their heels through the grocery store, neighborhoods, and even at the mall. Looks like tons of FUN right? We were sent a pair of Heelys to review and when I opened the box on of the first thing I noticed right away was the instructions clearly located underneath the box lid. Perfect! No need to look around for a small card with tiny print instructions. They are very stylish and easy to assemble. They come with a small tool to help you insert your wheels. The wheels are easy to put in and easy to take out.


Then I notice the shoes themselves are well made. The shoe soles are extra grippy, thick with a Gum rubber Ninja Star outsole pattern. The shoe’s material is high quality and well made. The wheels are the nice little surprise and I found they were a lot lighter than I expected them to be. I got my son a kids size but they were a tad on the bigger side. Not a true to size fit. But that's a good thing! He can grow into them. Heelys has a great website with a ton of safety information and how to learn to use your Heelys correctly. Heelys strongly recommends using safety gear while using their shoes. They are a fun product for kids and a great way to sneak in exercise. Heelys also offers the HX2 with 2 wheels which is more for beginners and younger kids. I think I'll be ordering a pair of these for my son! Love the Velcro seals which is great for little hands. The HX2 is a great way to learn how to use Heelys to help teach balance and the best part is that you can remove the second wheel once you've mastered the art of the "roll". How cool is that! Convertible Heelys :)
For those experienced skaters that have the need for speed, the Nano footboard is for you! It's a great way to convert your Heelys in to a "Skate"board. Very cool gift for that pre-teen in your family.
